So what are you good at?

Doc Z again.....

I'm interested in knowing a few things that others might be interested in too.

1. What are you really good at that has nothing to do with "school"? Is it something you have been passionate about for a long time?

2. What was your worst subject? What made it so negative an experience?

3. What subject in school was your favorite and what made it your favorite? What subject did you do the best in? How did you do the work for that subject (what strategies did you employ)?

Hey everybody;

Something that I'm good at doing that has no relation to school is playing guitar. I've been playing for about 4 years now. I like to write songs that probably wouldn't get radio play and kind of sound like they belong in the 60's.

My worst subject throughout High School was Chemistry. The teacher was a total witch.

My favorite class was probably Media and Communications in 12th grade. The teacher was really nice and always found a way to relate to the students, which is very helpful. It was also the subject I did the best in. To get good grades and learn the subject matter I took good notes, payed close attention, and always asked questions.

A little off topic, but Transformers was pretty cool when you look at the movie and it was something like 80% special effects, that's pretty amazing.

See you guys.

Hey there, friends.

Outside of school I really enjoy playing sports. I'm not the greatest athlete, but I can pick up any sort of game rather quickly and I'll probably enjoy playing it.
My worst subject was also chem, but because I didn't enjoy...leaving bored and unable to concentrate.
My favorite class was my 11th grade American Lit class because I enjoyed the majority of the things we read and our teacher encourage in depth thinking and taught us to really gut the books. The best grades I had came from my AP Calc class in 12th grade. Once I started to focus enough I realized that everything was basically step by step, and if I memorized the process I could do well. This really developed my problem solving methods and helped me become a better thinker.

P.S. Corey, you're my roommate and I'm pretty sure we like all the same things. I'm meaning to get in touch with but I've been busy because my family moved this summer. This makes me realize you don't have my new number. It's 412 609 6348. I guess whoever else wants to call me can too.

Mike, neither do I, which is why I had to repost this :)

Hey!

This should be interesting..

Don't make fun, but I'm really good at my job. I work at Rita's, and in the past 5 months I've worked my way up from not knowing what italian ice was to managing the store. I'm the only one beside the owner that knows everything and can make the schedule. I'm really sad that I can't work there during school.

My worst subject was/is Spanish. I was going to major in it until this last year when I realized I don't like the language as much as I thought I did.

My favorite class was Astronomy sophomore year. We got to listen to any music we brought in during the sky shows, and it's one of the few classes at my school that I retained a lot of knowledge from and had a blast doing it.

Well, I'm off to pack for Myrtle Beach. I leave Friday!

Hey everyone!!

i dont really have anything outside of school that im really super good at, but i have a passion for being creative and i spend a lot of time scrap booking..

..my worst subject in school would have been English, it was always the hardest for me.. and my 11th grade yr. i took an online class and that was the worst.. then my 12th grade yr. my teacher Mr.V made it a lot of fun, and i didnt have any trouble getting thorugh his class.

My all time favorite subject is math.. i had thoughts on becoming a math teacher, but decided to stick with special eduction. I think my love for math through high school is all owed to my 8th grade teacher, coach Swiggs, he made math a blast and a class that i always looked forward to and i took his tactics and put them to use through out my high school years and it helped me understand the new material.

talk to you all later.

Hey there everyone :)
Like Alex, I am also really good at my job. I have worked at Baskin Robbins/Dunkin' Donuts for the past two years and have become really good at what I do. Shakes and lattes are my specialties, haha!

I believe my worst subject was Principles of Democracy. I dreaded that class everyday. The teacher was whacky and no one understood a thing she said. But somehow, at the end of the 9 weeks, I'd pull of a 132% A. Which was absolutely impossible... she was definitely crazy.

My favorite subject in school was math. That was the one subject I really liked figuring out every detail and coming up with the correct answer. The subject I did best in was probably French. Though I can't speak it very well, I always earned good grades. We always had vocab. quzzes and I always made flash cards the day we got our lists of words that way i could study with my friends. It always paid off.

Talk to you soon!

Hi Everyone!

Out of school I spend majority of my time at the barn. I have been riding horses for 6 years and still learning alot and getting better all the time! I teach group and private lessons and love it!!

My worst subject in hs was chemistry... it was really hard even though my teacher was good.

My favorite class was math even though that had to be one of the hardest classes i have ever taken. I took lots of notes and asked tons of questions to do well. I think I liked it so much because it was challenging.

goodbye~!

Hey everyone!

Something that I'm good at doing is probably my job too. I nanny for four families a couple different times during the week. I absolutely love kids and I love thinking of games and fun stuff to do with them. I've been babysitting since 6th grade and one of the families I sit for have known me since I started. It's pretty cool to watch them grow up. They're all day makers which definitely helps!

My worst subject in High School was probably A.P Biology. I really like science but the teacher was new and I just don't think I got as much out of it as I could have, but that goes on my part as well.

My favorite class was definitely math. I loved Geometry and Advanced Algebra probably the most. Advanced Algebra is one of the harder classes at Hudson and I didn't do very well the first time so I retook the class, got the same teacher I had for Geometry, and did a lot better the second time around. I got all A's in Advanced Algebra the second time and the reason being was because I took a lot of notes, always asked questions if I didn't understand something, and was a little more familiar with the subject.

To add to all of the movie comments...I did see License to Wed and it was really cute, but I haven't seen Transformers yet! I guess I'm going to have to go see it.

Take it easy you guys, can’t wait to meet you all! :)

I'm really good at my job... well, it's now my former job since I quit in June. I worked at my local florist shop cleaning, working with customers, and of course working with flowers and greening vases for the designers. I never had time to take an art class in school, so I utilized my love for color and design at work.

My worst subject was definitely Honors Chemistry. My teacher was an absolute genius and very enthusiastic, but I unfortuneately just couldn't grasp the material.

My favorite subject was band. Since I was section leader in my sophomore year, I learned over the years how to become a better role model and how to have more confidence in myself. Being in a music class allowed me to express myself and to feel comfortable in my own skin because everyone was very supportive, accepting, and fun to be around. I probably did the best in my Spanish classes because I loved hearing people speak the language and that really motivated me to learn everything I could about the culture and the language. Learning all of the different tenses really confused me at first because I had never really thought about what tenses I used when I spoke in English. Once I could easily recognize all of the tenses in English, learning Spanish was a lot easier. The teacher also moved really fast through the material and made us work from bell to bell, so I always made sure I took good notes, payed attention, and studied really hard to do well in the class.

Hey!

I LOVE to act!Musicals, and plays are my life. It sounds kind of nerdy, but i have always had the dream of being an actress, and i still feel it could happen. I love to not only perform, but watch as many productions as i can!

Throughout my entire life, math has been the hardest subject for me. Graphs, numbers.. just NOT my thing i guess. Hopefully, i can work hard and get better = )

My favorite class, was my yearbook class. I was editor of the yearbook senior year, it incorporated my love for english, and taking pictures. It was in general , just Super Fun!

well talk to you all soon . = )

geese, it seems like this years elc is full of people who don't proof read, because, unless its something official, i tend not to proof read either. LOl. I kind of like how this blog corrects my errors as i go though.

along with jessica i have to say that yearbook was one of my fav classes in high school. i got really involved and learned the amazingness of photography!

but the funnest class on campus is 7 ideas with barric. its physics, but fun and easy.

i did pretty good in school, but the class i disliked the most was english, because i hated the books we had to read and i didn't feel we did enough creative writing.

something im good at is art. i love to draw and do just about anything creative!

along with corey, TRANSFORMERS ROCKED MY SOCKS OFF!!!!!!!!!! it was pretty much amazing!

Hey everyone!

Ok so something that I'm good at outside of school is probably playing tennis. I've been doing it since I was really young and had always enjoyed it. It gives me something to do in my spare time which is nice except its hard to play by yourself so I always have to find someone to go with.

My worst subject in high school was definitly English. It has always been so hard for me because there is never a completely right answer or way to figure out anything. I think maybe I'm just not as motivated in english and thats why its so hard for me but I try.

My favorite class was Pre Calc. I guess I'm just a math person so I enjoyed it alot. My teacher was also really nice and cared more about her students than most of my other teachers.
I learned how to take things step by step until I worked it out which is how I stll work things out today.

I can't wait to meet all of you so soon!
