What would make it better?

Well you've been through KSU's Week of Welcome (WOW) for new students almost a week ago and the first week of classes is almost over. I don't know which is harder to survive... new student programs and moving in OR the first week of classes?

The purpose of this post is to find out 1. what you liked during the new student program (Thursday thru Sunday), 2. what you didn't like, and 3. what would you have rather had as a program or event that you would have gone to?

I personaly liked the week of welcome becuase it gave me a great chance to meet new people and see new faces everyday. Some of the activites made me wonder if i was still in high school but i also liked them because it made me feel more comfertable. My favorite thing was the spirit thing in the feild by the student center.I think that most of it should be more manditory because then people arnt scared to go and dont just sit in there room.

I would have to agree with Karlyn. I liked the week of welcome because it gave me a wonderful opportunity to meet new people. However, I did not like how early some of the manditory meetings/events were. The ones that were later in the day I liked better because I didn't just role out of bed (looking pretty nasty!)and scare people away. :D It was fun and definitely a good experience for incoming freshman.

Unfortunately I am going to have to agree with Kristen, even though she copies me frequently and steals my ideas, just kidding Kristen =) I guess she's still an ok girl,
The WOW was really fun. It was nice to get to move in early and check out some fun events.
Doc Z definitely lived up to my expectations, and all of the classes were pretty interesting.
Anybody I haven't met stop by 419 and say hey sometime

I really liked being able to move in before the upperclassmen. It gave us a chance to get acquainted with one another. I didn't really enjoy the WOW activities though. I felt like I was at camp... though I'm starting to believe that that will be how I feel for the next 4 years.
Oh, I really liked the talent show. That was, by far, the coolest event.

I personaly liked the WOW. I thought it was an amazing experience for me, and it introduced me to college life a slow pace. I loved meeting new people, and it made me feel good that everyone there was going threw the same thing i was.

Overall I liked Week of Welcome. The only suggestion that I would make would be to have more social events to meet people at that are mandatory.

I really enjoyed the WOW and my favorite part was the meeting with all the faculty in the college of Education, Health, and Human Sevices. Power clap! (haha)

I agree that it would have been nice to have more social events. I would have loved to have a big get together with everyone on my floor right at the beginning.

I liked the week of welcome, just to experience different things on campus and I liked that we went to some of the buildings that we now have classes in so when it came to start classes we knew where they were. Some of the things were boring, but I have to agree with Whitney, hearing Doc Z scream was very entertaining and defiently kept me awake! A thing that should be changed is what Karlyn said about more things being manditory. It was a fun week just to meet new people!

i wasnt exactly very big on the wow activities...a lot of them were really boring and they almost felt like waste of time...-except for the blast off thing...that was ok...and doc z being crazy was interesting-good thing was that i got to wander around campus and it did give me a chance to meet new people...i made a few new friends from other buildings...but i still dont know most of the people here on the 4th floor so...ya...i would tell people to visit but im not always here...and neither is my roomate...but you can try if you want...were in 409...so...ya...

I enjoyed WOW because it gave everyone a chance to meet new people. I really enjoyed the spirit festival and the presentation given by dr.z. That was very entertaining!! I also feel that the social events for WOW should be mandatory so it forces other people to get out of their rooms and meet people.

I agree with Mel (of course). It was great that we got to move in a week before the upperclassmen, but the activities were sort of mundane. The camp reference was perfect.

I really did like WOW because it kept me busy with lots of things instead of sitting in my room and thinking about wanting to go home. I got to meet lots of people through the different activities. It was a great week and I really liked when the upperclassmen walked around campus with us and showed us where our classes were.

I really enjoyed the week of welcome because i had the opportunity to meat new people and find my way around before the official start of class. I also agree that many of the activities could have been better but thought that some of them were also fun and entertaining such as the blast off, talent show, and comic.

i thought WOW was very helpful in helping new students get adjusted to living somewhere other than home. My favorite thing was the back to school blastoff and the starlights and streetlights thing. i think that it was a good program and i wouldnt change it for next year.

I liked the WOW over all. I got to meet new people and go to some fun stuff. I really like the talent show and watching Doc Z go crazy on stage yelling and handing out money, they let me know that this was going to be an exciting program.

I really liked when we got together in our colloquium, it gave me a chance to meet new people that I would be having class with. I don't really remember anything that bothered me so I don't have any complaints. There's nothing really that comes to mind that could have made it better because it was the right amount of activites for someone who is adjusting to campus life.

I like the week of welcome and the fact that we got to move in before the upperclassmen. My favorite part was the comedian on the first night. I did't like the fact that we had to get up early though. I think that it is a good program to put on and that the students get a lot out of it.

I liked the week of welcome because it gave me a chance to get to know some new people and it also gave me a chance to get a feel for the campus. I didn't like that alot of the activities started so early. I think WOW is is a good opportunity for freshamn.
